Sarah's Welcome Back to Canada Cross Country Tour!

My cross country tour started in Vancouver and stayed with Gus and Sarah, my friends from Taiwan. It was so great to see them and to see Gus finally in Canada! We had a great weekend of hanging out and catching up. I managed to do a bit of work on my thesis and Gus and Sarah continued going to school/work. Later in the week I went to my flat mate from Oz. Katie picked me up from Sarah & Gus' and I moved onto my next friend for some chill time, more catching up and a lot of laughing. Again I did more work on my thesis.

THEN...the trouble trio drove in and shook things up. Laura flew in from Toronto, Mel flew in from Alaska and Cathy drove up from Whistler. The weather was beyond gorgeous so we jumped in the jeep and drove out to Whistler. However Cathy thought I was still a tough outdoors girl and we went for a small hike on top the the mountain called the chief. Well, it was nice, all up hill because we were hiking a mountain! There were stairs, ladders, logs anything and everything you can think we had to climb it. I was doing good until i thought we were at the top and it was only our lunch break! So another hour up. Flat rock we shuffled up with chains to pull ourselves and once we reached the peak...my god! it was so beautiful. You could see all the mountains surrounding you, the ocean to the right, bright sunny clear blue sky and the gasps of breath from everyone around me, they were trying to steal the oxygen I so badly needed!

Heading back down was another story and my legs were shaken so much, although it was hard I was laughing the whole way which of course made it tons easier to breathe!!!
Back down and heading to Whistler, Cathy lives in a 1.2 million dollar log house which is nicer than any hotel Ive stayed at. We made dinner and had a great catch up. The rest of the weekend was full of canoe trips, hikes, and sun bathing...I'm telling you it was the nicest sunniest days Ive seen in about 3 months! It was almost 30 everyday!

Saying goodbye to those girls was hard knowing it might not be until the first wedding that I see them again (of course i don't think the weddings are too far off now) I got back on another plane and have landed in Calgary. I walked in the door said a quick hello to Erin and went straight for baby Jane. My god, she is so cute! Erin is an amazing Mom, as if I had any doubts, and Jane is just the nicest, cutest, happiest kid ever. Tim is very pleased with himself that he made such a cute baby and whenever he walks in the door from work Jane's face lights up. I cant even imagine how big she will be the next time i see her. I'm guessing she will be walking and talking! I almost don't want to go just because I'm going to miss everything about her growing up! (I know its not my baby....but i can at least be the crazy aunt who smothers her in kisses and presents cant i?)
Well I got a lot done on my thesis here, I think my Lit review is done. Now i have to move on to the other aspects of the paper. Only 6000 more words to go!
Ill be in contact after June 4th (D-Day) Oh and trust me Ill be posting tons of pics after that.
If your in Southern O, ill see you soon

Somthing to think about

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't
supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have
your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder
every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it
felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best
friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.
You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll
eventually lose someone you love.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much,
and love like you've never been hurt because
every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of
happiness you'll never get back
